Living History

Bringing the past to life

Bringing the past to life through living history is a direct way to connect people with the past, traces of which surround us today in the form of historic buildings, surviving every-day objects and place names. Living history also helps people to understand the deeper stories of the land they live in and about the folk who came before them.
Through interactive engagement, workshops and handling of facsimile material, David and his historical reenactment colleague Owen together offer living history sessions and demonstrations suitable for adults and children, tailored to both indoor and outdoor settings and varied educational and heritage contexts.
David and Owen focus on the events, conditions and equipment of medieval times (approximately 500 - 1500 CE), but are happy to venture either side of this exciting core thousand year period when occasion demands.
